Randy Berry

My name is Randy Berry.

This blog describes my little book. The name of the book is: 50 Interviews: Video Marketing Pioneers - How America’s Most Skilled, Most Inspired Online Video Advertising Creators are Transforming the YouTube Landscape

I myself am a middle-aged man. I grew up poor in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was always interested in documentary films, writing and interviewing people.

Right now I am enrolled in the Internet Marketing Master Science program at Full Sail University, online. I am writing a thesis about online video advertising in addition to writing the book described in this blog.

Some of my life’s goals are to make it through graduate school, write this book,  get my son Eric back to full-health, and eventually return with my wife to San Francisco, where we first met.

Please let me share with you a little more about my background.

My role as family provider has taken on many faces. I have held positions like lumberjack, paste-up artist for a newspaper, salesman, taxi-driver, hotel manager, fitness instructor and housepainter. During the last 25 years I have been in a career as a computer chip designer (mask designer). I got pretty good at that and was able to earn compensation in the top 5% of all salaried workers in the United States.

Towards the end of my career as a computer chip designer I owned and operated several successful businesses and got my first taste of network marketing selling nutritional products. I then underwent an intense freelance copywriting apprenticeship at the American Writers and Artists Institute through which I later met and worked with renowned B2B copywriter Chris Marlow.

With what I had learned about network marketing, direct selling, copywriting and personal development, I had gained a lot of confidence but still felt there were some gaps in my education.

That is why I decide to attend Full Sail University graduate school where I am now enrolled and in the Internet Marketing Master Science program. It is rigorous.

Jim Rohn, one of my favorite self-empowerment people always said…

“Work hard on your job and you’ll earn an income. Work hard on yourself and you make a FORTUNE.”

I would love to respond to your email and comments and again would feel privileged to meet and know each one of you!

Hi Randy. I loved reading your bio and can relate. I too am middle-age, have had a full career in broadcasting, videography, and marketing. I also looked into the Full Sail program. Hope that works out well for you. Your love for documentary film caught my eye. I have helped produce several documentaries and was the primary producer for another PBS documentary. I’m in the process of taking everything I have learned (from some top industry pros) and create something new with video marketing. I’m very interested to see what you learn from the experiment.

Hi Don,

I’m sure this isn’t cool to post on a blog but I wept when I went to your site and saw your work – the power of smart mix of imagery and highly refined background music.

Please keep in touch and I will be watching your work because I think you may be living my life, my life in the future, that is.

Thanks so much for sharing this with me today!
